Moscow City Court extended the detention of “marathon queen” blogger Elena Blinovskaya for a month. This is reported by DEA News.
Blinovskaya will remain in custody until August 19.
How adds Blinovskaya, who called herself a patriot of Russia during the hearing, stated that she was held in pre-trial detention because of her friend Victoria, with whom she celebrated the New Year. The blogger kissed her loved ones and laughed several times during the hearing. Her lawyers offered to let her go home “with an optional decision,” Life reported, citing Shot.
“I can’t stay silent while a woman is behind bars! On behalf of the family, on behalf of the children, on behalf of the Year of the Family, I ask you to let Blinovskaya go home,” the blogger’s lawyer said.
The prosecution reported that there were 46 volumes in Blinovskaya’s case, and the defense requested that the trial be stopped due to her husband’s positive characteristics from the command of the Northern Military District.
Blinovskaya was detained in April 2023 on charges of tax evasion in a particularly large amount, namely 918 million rubles. Later, the “marathon queen” was also charged with two counts of money smuggling. As a result, she was sent to a pre-trial detention center.
The day before Blinovskaya reduced Debt to the Federal Tax Service (FTS) in the amount of 83.3 million rubles.
