Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are in talks to direct two new Avengers movies. This is reported by Hollywood Reporter citing an insider.
The discussion is currently in its early stages, with Marvel having been searching for directors for several months for the fifth and sixth films, scheduled for release in May 2026 and May 2027.
The Russo brothers have already expressed interest in the project, and Deadpool and Wolverine creator Shawn Levy is also in contention for the new Avengers directorial position.
Joe and Anthony Russo have directed four MCU films: “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”; “Captain America: Civil War”; “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame”. These projects have grossed approximately $6.7 billion at the box office.
