What did they show in the new episode?

After the brutal murder of little Jaehaerys (Jude Kaya) at the end of the previous section (we analyzed) Here) King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) is furious: He threatens to kill everyone and screams about the war, while also tearing his father’s model of Old Valyria to pieces. Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) looks at the room he was in the day before and realizes that he misses the killers who came for him. Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) tries to support Alicent (Olivia Cook) and promises to make the murderers pay. He suggests that the gods are punishing him this way. He does not go into detail, but the nature of the self-flagellation is clear to us: Lord Commander of the Royal Guard Criston Kohl as his grandson is beheaded (Fabien Frankel) was in his bed.

The lame Inquisitor Lord Laris Strong during the Council (Matthew Needham) reported the capture of the murderous guard – captured with Jaehaerys’ head in his bag. The king states that any of the council members could be a conspirator. He also does not want to publicly announce what happened, so as not to show weakness: after all, the prince was killed in his cradle, in the heart of the Red Keep. Otto objects that Aegon already looks weak; During the coronation, a dragon literally fell on everyone’s head. El convinces the king to do the opposite and hold the funeral according to Targaryen customs. This includes a funeral procession with an open casket.

It was decided to make Alicent and Queen Helaine the faces of the mournful PR campaign. (Fia Şaban). The women meet, Alicent tries to start a conversation about yesterday: As we remember, after the death of her son, Helaine runs to Alicent with her daughter in her arms and finds her with Kohl. And the queen, who was not of a very stable spirit before and is now dejected, ignores these attempts.

The funeral procession begins in King’s Landing. At the same time, Laris goes down to the dungeon to interrogate the captured guard. One kind of unlocked torture device is enough for Tom – he arranges almost everything: He hired Damon Targaryen (Matt Smith), paid half in advance, promised the second, was a common mouse catcher. Aegon then enters the cell, freed from the obligation to attend his own son’s funeral. All the information has been received, now you can move on to torture for torture’s sake. Meanwhile, the procession moves through the streets of King’s Landing, accompanied by a herald: Reenira is a kingslayer and false pretender to the throne.

Meanwhile, everything is reported to Reyenir in the castle on Dragonstone. At an emergency council, the queen orders the denial of involvement in Jaehaerys’ death to be sent to Westeros. But not even everyone there believes it. Council members agree on one thing: The reputational losses for “blacks” are huge. Then Reyenira looks at the grinning Daemon and understands everything. Afterwards, they talk privately.

Damon reassures the queen that he clearly ordered Eeymond’s death. During the exchange, Reyenira admits that she has never fully trusted Damon: she doubts whether Damon truly loves her or is just using her to achieve his own goals. She asks if he recognizes her as his queen and ruler. In response, Daemon claimed that his late brother Viserys I (Paddy Considine) He appointed Reyenira as heir just to replace him. But the Prince Consort admits that the whole contract killing business turned out badly. Reyenira summarizes the argument and says her uncle is pathetic.

Later, the queen accepts Damon’s daughter, Bail Targaryen. (Bethany Antonia). Reenira tells the girl to fly to King’s Landing with Moondancer (this young dragon has not been shown to us yet) and see carefully what is happening there. Meanwhile, Damon puts on his armor and leaves Dragonstone riding Caraxes.

Kohl watches with a guilty expression as Jaehaerys’ bloody belongings are removed from the nursery. After a while, the knight goes to Arrik Cargill. (Luke Tittensor) and orders him to go to Dragonstone and kill Rhaenyra. By yourself! To do this, he will have to pretend to be his own twin brother, Errick. (Elliott Tittensor), those who joined the “blacks”.

Somewhere around Dragonstone, Rhaenyra’s son, Jacaerys Velaryon (Harry Collet) and Beila talk about their father. Talking about Damon, talking about Harvin Strong (Ryan Corr). Jakeerys also remembers Baelin’s uncle, Laenor Velaryon (John MacMillan)The one who, as we remember, rode off into the sunset with Harvin. And he says he misses his brother Luceris (Elliot Grieho), who died at the hands of Eeymond (or rather, his dragon). The latter is now in a brothel and confesses to the prostitute that he is proud of his desire to kill her, but also regrets what happened to Luceris.

Later, we will meet the new players of the season a little closer.

Wife of blacksmith Hugh the Hammer, who appeared in the last episode (Kieran Bew) Corly’s “Sea Serpent” complains to him about the deficiencies caused by the naval blockade caused by Velaryon (Steve Toussaint), had to spend an incredibly long time looking for chicken for soup and paid three times more than usual for it. Meanwhile, their daughter is also sick.

Then we move to the other side of the barricades. Sailor Aline from Hull (Ebubekir SalimHaving saved Corlin from pirates (this happened somewhere off-screen between seasons), he meets his brother Addam at the harbor. (Clinton Liberty). A few scenes later, Addam, collecting crabs on the beach, watches the flying Sea Mist (previously Laenor Velaryon’s dragon).

Shortly before this, the Sea Serpent argues with his wife Rhaenys Targaryen. (Yves the Best) Damon’s insecurity. But “Almost a Queen” says she understands how difficult it is to accept the fact that the crown is out of control. After this, Reenira interrogates the spy Misaria. (Sonoya Mizuno) About his role in the murder of Jaehaerys. He admits to telling Damon the names of potential mercenaries in exchange for freedom. Reyenira has bad news for her: Releasing the White Leech won’t do the queen much good.

Meanwhile, the streets of King’s Landing are adorned with the corpses of rat catchers. Among them, we also see our friend nicknamed Cheese, one of the prince’s murderers. The dog he brutally kicked in the last episode whines and looks at its dead owner. Otto becomes enraged and punishes the king, ordering all mouse catchers to be executed. In his opinion, this negates all the sympathy the public had previously gained. Aegon has a different view on this matter. Moreover, he understands the situation and tells his grandfather about Kolya’s idea of sending Arrick to Dragonstone. Otto leaves the room without taking the title of right hand: the King relieves him of his duties and appoints Criston as his right hand.

At the same time, Arrick is just reaching his goal. He is spotted by a White Leech on the shore and Reyenira finally decides to let him go. The knight enters the castle, passes by his brother and proceeds towards Reyenira’s room. Errick dived in there too. The brothers start fighting. One of them wins (immediately after declaring his love for the second one). It is not clear who exactly, but this does not matter, since the surviving brother stands over the corpse of the defeated, apologizes for something and commits suicide.

In King’s Landing, Otto tells Alicent that after he retires early, he plans to go to Oldtown and take care of his son Daeron (don’t worry, we haven’t shown him that yet). Alicent was about to tell her father about her sins, but he stopped her, emphasizing that she did not want to know anything. He then goes to Aegon and finds him crying. Later, Alicent, who cannot find a place for herself, goes to her room. Before going to bed, she decides to slap Kolya in the face. They quickly turn into sex.

How was it?

The tempo dropped a little in the second part, but this was to be expected. “Cruel Reynira” is a very fluid series, full of the atmosphere of being on a mission; The blood only accelerates a little during the fight between the twins. But it didn’t hurt to at least see a new dragon.

What do we expect next?

Probably the next series will be about the same, and all the most exciting things will most likely begin with the fourth – it is already known that it is called “A Dance with Dragons”.
