Director Yegor Konchalovsky admitted in an interview with RTVI that he was offered to shoot the series “The Boy’s Word”. There’s blood on the asphalt.”
Konchalovsky announced that he abandoned the project due to lack of interest. According to the director, he has already shot similar films with the concept discussed with him. The producer admitted that if he had accepted the project, it would have been a copy of the movie Antikiller with a different script.
As Konchalovsky admitted, at that time he had no idea that the series would become so popular. However, the director does not regret refusing because otherwise a different project would have emerged.
“It wouldn’t have turned out that way for me. I would make a different movie. Maybe that would be good too. But it would be different. That’s exactly what I didn’t want. Therefore, there is no question. They are great guys,” the producer shared.
Konchalovsky believes that the success of “The Boy’s Word” probably does not predict a fashion for movies “about cops and bandits.” It seems to the director now that any well-made film will attract the attention of Russian audiences.
Previously It became known that Nikita Kologrivy will play the main role in the film along with Garik Kharlamov’s girlfriend.
