The KinoTV television channel was fined 1 million rubles in accordance with the protocol on LGBT demonstrations (the International LGBT People’s Movement is considered extremist and terrorist, banned in the Russian Federation) for the screening of James McTeague’s film “V for Vendetta”. St. Petersburg Petrogradsky District Court brought the television channel to administrative liability. The court found that on 16.06.2023, between 03:15:32 and 05:27:26 (local time in the Kemerovo region), KINO TV LLC, the editorial office of the mass media, authorized the distribution of this feature. The film “V for Vendetta” among minors, containing an illustration of non-traditional relationships and (or) preferences, including descriptions and images of non-traditional relationships and (or) preferences with the marking of information products “16+”.
“Various parts of the film contain scenes expressed through verbal (description) and visual components (images of kissing, hugs between persons of the same biological sex (female)) that demonstrate the non-traditional sexual relationships and preferences of a character named Valerie. ” says the court decision.
“KinoTV” fine as the same movie is tagged in November 2023.
