Finnish musicians demanded Israel’s exclusion from the Eurovision international song contest. In this respect reports “BBC”.

They created a petition signed by 1,500 people from the Finnish music industry accusing Israel of war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Finnish artists are demanding that the Finnish contestant withdraw if the contest’s organizer, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), leaves the Israelis out of the contest.

Activist Lukas Korpelainen, one of the authors of the petition, said Eurovision organizers should not allow Israel to “polish its image” by participating in the contest.

Finnish publisher Yle is also accused in the petition. The broadcaster was accused of double standards, as its representatives were among the first to call for Russia’s exclusion from Eurovision following the start of a special military operation in Ukraine.
