Futurama, which returns after a 10-year break, has been extended for a few more seasons

Online cinema Hulu has renewed the science fiction animated series “Futurama” for two more seasons of ten episodes each. This was reported by IGN.

The first episodes of the eighth season of the series premiered on July 24, 2023. This happened after a gap of ten years. The second part will be released in 2024.

Animator Matt Groening and screenwriters David Samuel Cohen and Ken Keeler returned to their duties. The voice cast has also remained virtually unchanged; Billy West, Katey Sagal, Phil LaMarr, Maurice LaMarche and even John DiMaggio, who voiced Bender in the original cartoon, worked on the series.

According to the plot, the new season takes place after the events of the previous season: Fry and Leela got married and grew old together. All the other heroes of the world were frozen in time until the Professor saved them and time was transported to 3023.

Futurama premiered on FOX on November 14, 1999 and continued to air for seven seasons. The last episode of the series was broadcast on September 4, 2013, after which the broadcast of the series was stopped until 2023.
