Hollywood actors signed a call for a ceasefire in Gaza and Israel in their call to US President Joe Biden. This was reported by Variation.
“We call on your administration and all world leaders to honor the lives of all residents of the Holy Land and facilitate an immediate ceasefire with the bombing of Gaza and the release of hostages. “Half of Gaza’s 2 million residents are children, and more than two-thirds are refugees and their grandchildren,” the message reads.
They also demand that humanitarian aid be provided to the people of Gaza.
“The only power plant in the Gaza Strip ran out of fuel on Wednesday afternoon; Electricity, water and wastewater treatment were cut off. Many residents are no longer able to obtain drinking water from service providers or piped water for home use…” said additional comment from United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) spokesperson James Elder.
In total, the appeal was signed by 55 Hollywood figures. Among them: Joaquin Phoenix, Cate Blanchett, Jon Stewart, Kristen Stewart, Susan Sarandon, Mahershala Ali, Riz Ahmed, Rami Youssef and Quinta Brunson.
