Yakovleva said that this is a matter of their own choice and “conscience”. However, the star does not like to be “cursed” at Russia and its people. The actor does not understand “this madness”. It is also not pleasant for him to have some immigrated folk artists reset their titles.
“For example, why is this necessary? But if you call the title a relic of the Soviet past, why did you take it? It probably paid some dividends. Now you say there is no need for a title on behalf of a different state. So, you got a benefit here at first, and now you want to get it there. I don’t like this hypocrisy,” said the actress.
Yakovleva admitted that she proudly bears the title of People’s Artist of Russia. For him, this title means recognition of his values.
Alena Yakovleva was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Russia in 2008. She made her cinema debut in 1988 with the movie Branch. The artist’s filmography includes more than 120 works. She starred in such projects as “Sklifosovsky”, “Kadetstvo”, “Female Doctor”.
