Active work was initiated to create and develop a world-class set of films in the capital. This was announced today, namely on August 30, by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
The mayor said that at the moment 2 studio spaces are being built at the Film Studio in Moscow. In Gorky and METMASH. Moskino Cinema Park is being built in the Trinity administrative district of the capital.
The head of the city noted that six months ago there was a barren land on the site of the future cinema park. Now there are different platforms to shoot natural cinema. According to Sergei Sobyan, they will soon turn into the largest in the world – an area of u200bu200b320 hectares, the landscape of which will allow to create a huge number of different landscapes.
“The construction of the second phase of the cinema park is currently underway. The withdrawal of Western film studios from the Russian market contributes to the high speed of implementation of the project. This is an incentive to accelerate the work that is planned to be carried out gradually, ”Sobyanin added.
The mayor believes that the cinema park will be interesting for both Muscovites and tourists.
“This is a new film cluster in Moscow, a creative cluster. And of course this is the beginning of the revival of Russian cinema as world cinema,” said the head of the city.
The participants of the film set are film studios, media complexes, film companies registered in Moscow and companies operating in the film market, props, equipment, etc. There will be other businesses that rent.
The emergence of a film cluster of this scale will increase the possibilities of domestic filmmaking by 5 times. In their spare time after filming, the site will be open to all movie fans and will become one of the capital’s most unique attractions.
Recall that the decision to establish the Moskino cinema park was made by the mayor after a meeting with the filmmakers in the summer of 2019. Work on the improvement of the area, the placement of movie sets and other infrastructure facilities began in 2022.
