Moldovan Foreign Ministry announces entry denial for Goran Bregovic

Moldovan Foreign Ministry Head Adrian Efros announced that Serbian musician Goran Bregovic was denied entry to Moldova because of his pro-Russian views and his support for the annexation of Crimea to Russia. It has been reported DEA News.

“Mr Bregovic was not allowed to enter Moldova because of his support for Russia’s annexation of Crimea. He also showed adherence to a pro-Russian position since the hostilities in Ukraine,” Efros said, adding that there were other reasons why he was denied entry into the country.

Efros added that Bregovic was notified through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that he was banned from entering Moldova.

Bregovic was supposed to star in Gustar, the ethno festival in Moldova, but on August 20, Moldovan police denied entry to him and about three dozen other foreign citizens.

Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic declarationHe said the situation “does not correspond to the traditional friendly relations” between the two countries. He also stressed that the event was perceived extremely negatively by the Serbian people.
