This year, 18 new bands have been added to the “We are Russia” program, so the tour takes place on a grand scale. Vainakh State Academic Dance Ensemble will also come from Grozny and will tour to Tula, Cherkessk, Rossosh and Liski.
“The ROSCONCERT program “We are Russia,” says Anatoly Arefiev, deputy general director of the Premiere creative association, “today has been long-awaited not only for artists, but also for the audience, because the geography of tours is expanding, primarily national. state, dance, chorus that has never happened before. Funds allocated by ROSCONCERT for the tour of Russian groups – Caucasian, Tatar, Bashkir and others – are directed specifically to their support. The bands perform for the first time in regions they have never been to before. I would like to personally thank ROSCONCERT of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for this gift, which is perhaps the most important in the activities of our national groups, because we are meeting with audiences who have discovered a new world – folk songs.
Some communities have to overcome very long distances. So the Moscow State Academic Dance Theater Gzhel will go to the Far Eastern Federal District, such cities as Blagoveshchensk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok. From Moscow to the end – more than 6 thousand kilometers. The State Academic Omsk Russian Folk Choir will also travel more than 4,000 kilometers to reach Vladivostok. And the State Dance Ensemble “Ural” from Chelyabinsk will go to Derbent, the distance of which is about 2.5 thousand kilometers.
Director of the State Academic Russian Orchestra. VV Andreeva Sergey Velichkin told what program the team will present. The orchestra will participate in the program for the first time.
“Thanks to ROSCONCERT for giving the opportunity to travel to the regions and show the Russian people our art, our creativity. The program is very important because the support of the best bands in the country affects the general cultural development of our state and of course it is also very important for musicians to travel and get to know new audiences and new cities, and this “treasure” cannot be evaluated in words or some numbers. This is something without which culture and art, and the cultural development of our country in general, cannot exist. Our orchestra is participating in the program for the first time this year. We celebrated its 35th anniversary and will show our program dedicated to this event. We will have the best works of Russian composers,” he said.
From August 21 to 27, a permanent member of the program “We are Russia”, the famous Academic Honored Dance Ensemble of Dagestan “Lezginka” will go on tour from Makhachkala. He will visit Ukhta, Vorkuta, Pechora, Usinsk and Syktyvkar. And from the end of September to October, 10 well-known creative teams, including the eponymous Russian Dance “Lights” Ensemble, are announced in the program. Garry Polevoy from Barnaul, Kalmykia State Dance Theater “Oirats” from Elista, Dance Theater “Cossacks of Russia” from Lipetsk, Siberian Krasnoyarsk State Academic Dance Ensemble. Mikhail Godenko and others.
“Our team,” said Inga Kutyanskaya, author of the idea for the Terema youth orchestra of national instruments, “is one of the few who can speak on an equal footing with the young audience. And today our national culture needs to “advance” into the souls of young people. The Terema Orchestra knows the approach because its oldest member is 32 years old! These young people can describe the beauty of Russian culture, the Russian national orchestra… Without the support of the “We are Russia” program, many bands would not be able to tour at all. This is a very good initiative, it is very nice to have such programs in our country.”

Many groups go on tour for the first time as part of the program “We are Russia”. Many groups have already made their debut this year. Among them are the Adygea State Folk and Dance Ensemble “Islamey” from Maykop, and the State Vocal and Choreographic Ensemble “Rus”, named after him. MN Vladimir Firsov, Academic Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments. Nekrasov VGTRK from NN Moscow. In addition, Chuvash State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble from Cheboksary, State Dance Ensemble of Caucasian Peoples “Dagestan Youth” from Makhachkala and Kaliningrad Regional Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments gave their concerts.
In August-December, Kazakh Ensemble song and dance “Razgulay” ASV Balaban from Saransk, State Folk Dance Ensemble “Ingushetia” from Magas, State Dance Ensemble “Ural” from Chelyabinsk and others.
History and modernity
Many teams have an interesting history and a distinct national identity. For example, the Ensemble of Cossack song and dance is named “Razgulyai”. SV Balabana appeared on the basis of the Mordovia State Philharmonic Orchestra. Stage costumes of this group were created on the basis of authentic clothing of Mordovian Cossacks.
The State Folk Dance Ensemble “Ingushetia” showcases the diverse dance culture of the Ingush people dating back to ancient times. The State Dance Ensemble of the Peoples of the Caucasus “Dagestan Youth” was founded in 1978, which visited three continents of the world – Eurasia, North America, South America. And the history of the Chuvash State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble begins in 1924 (the Ensemble was formed on the basis of the Chuvash National Choir, which later went on tour around the country). Music critics at that time noted not only the ethnographic profile of the choir, but also the culture of high performance. Today, the team continues the traditions laid down by outstanding masters of Chuvash national art – Pavlov, Vorobyov, Reznikov and others.
Thus, three years ago, for the first time since Soviet times, state national teams united in one program for good reason. And they did this under the very correct name “We are Russia”, as it reflects the unity of the peoples living in our country. The colorful performances of talented ensembles, orchestras and choirs are eagerly awaited by the audience from various parts of our country.
