The initiative was born in 2020 as a great solidarity invisible friend destined to support the bookstores of the city of Valencia, in the context of the Covid pandemic. The game consists of giving a book to an invisible friend by purchasing it from a local bookstore, and at the same time getting a copy from an unknown person. Everything that appears in the record of each of the parties, to the delight of both parties.
Thus, the participants create an exchange of reading between unknown people, but united by their love of books. The aim of the initiative is to motivate the purchase of local businesses, thereby creating a neighborhood network.
In addition, the figure of the local bookstore or bookstore prescribing readings is “strengthening by building community through a mysterious and fun game that broke records this year” with 70 participating booksellers across the Valencian Community.
