HarperCollins, a global literary publisher, censored Agatha Christie’s novels to conform to the new ethics. It has been reported Telegram.

All nationality nicknames were deleted from the text: “Nubian boatman”, a “gypsy-looking” woman. Some episodes were deleted because they were directly related to the game about racial and ethnic differences. In addition, a moment when a woman called children disgusting and doubted that she loved them was also omitted from the text.

Prior to this, the publication had already corrected the texts of the works: the Oompa-Lumpas in Roald Dahl’s book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” were transformed by the editors from “little men” into “little people”.

In editing the originals, the publication reportedly attracts so-called “sensitive readers” whose job is to identify potentially offensive clichés and stereotypes. At the same time, their task is not to “correct” the text, but to make suggestions.

Formerly singer Amaria statedThat Russia should return to censorship to preserve culture.
