Actor Nikita Efremov admitted that he was able to overcome his addiction to drugs and alcohol only after reaching the “emotional bottom”. He talked about this in an interview with Svetlana Bondarchuk.
“I tried all the ways, I said to myself, I’ll buy a car, then quit, get married – and leave, get a role – and only then will I quit. I went to psychologists. But the most important thing is the emotional bottom when I am ready to internally accept that I am not the best manager of my life, ”the artist shared.
Efremov noted that the “pick up and let go” method didn’t work for him:
“You break down, then you scold yourself for not holding back. I didn’t want to admit that the addiction was stronger than me, that I needed help.”
The 34-year-old actress added that realizing her weakness helped her fight addictions.
“Don’t think that this is my problem and that I have to deal with it, but accept my weakness, that your life has become unmanageable,” Efremov advised.
Formerly Nikita Efremov said about suffering from childhood trauma.
