Apple has released the update of the iOS 18.5 operating system (assembly 22f76), which supports the transmission of messages via satellite for the iPhone 13. Now the owners of these smartphones can use the working service of the T-Mobile operator on the basis of Starlink technology. Currently, the service is offered free of charge as part of the test period in the USA by the end of July. About it reports Publication Verge.
With the release of IOS 18.5, all modifications of iPhone 13, including Mini, Pro and Pro Max had the opportunity to connect to a satellite network to change text messages. This function, which is applied with T-Mobile and Starlink, expands its communication capabilities in areas with limited or incomplete coating of the cellular network.
It is important to point out that this support is about the exclusive operator satellite services. Apple’s own function “Emergency Call-Sos” on the satellite is still special for new models starting from the iPhone 14.
In addition to the activation of satellite communication for iPhone 13, the iOS 18.5 update includes a number of other useful innovations. Among them: A notification of a password by a child to access a “screen time” function by a child, using a content in an Apple TV application on third -party devices, using the “Buy through the iPhone” option and correct the error that the Apple Vision Pro application can display the black screen.
Simultaneously with IOS 18.5, Apple has released updates for other platforms: MacOS Sequoia 15.5 and Watchos 11.5.
Previously OutputApple will rely on artificial intelligence control of the iPhone battery.
