Screenwriter, co-founder of the Kino group Alexey Rybin said Why “Realnoe Vremya” decided to shoot the novel by writer Shamil Idiatullin “The City of Brezhnev” about young gangs of the 80s. According to him, as soon as he read the work, he took such a decision without hesitation.
“I read a novel about 5 years ago. I was immediately taken aback by the literature. I immediately thought it should be removed. I found Shamil’s phone and immediately called him. We talked to him and we agreed that we should make a movie. However, it took a year and a half to find a company that would take care of this project as it was not an easy task,” Rybin shared.
He added that preparations for the shooting are ongoing. He said the movie could be out as early as 2024.
The work tells about the young criminal gangs of the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in the 80s. Filming will take place in the summer of 2023 by the NTV channel and the Triix Media film company. A significant part of the painting is devoted to the environment and life at the beginning of the decade.
Formerly Rybin knowledgeableAll eight episodes of the movie will be filmed in Naberezhnye Chelny. The scriptwriter also expressed that he hopes the majority of the film crew will consist of local actors.
