What critics say:
Atomic Heart is a complicated video game with big ideas and a desperate need for polish.
A Soviet sci-fi adventure with breathtaking visuals and sometimes excellent shots, marred by uneven balance, underdeveloped ideas and an annoying protagonist.
Atomic Heart’s story, gameplay, and world design are promising, but the game lacks impact across the board.
A narrative shooter with a decidedly sci-fi setting of the doomed USSR. There are awkward moments and occasional design flaws, but the way your skills relate to the enemy ecosystem is a welcome thrill.
Atomic Heart is out February 21 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4 and PS5. Game Pass subscribers can already start the game by changing the region to New Zealand.
