VTB has streamlined how individual customers join and benefit from the bank’s salary project, making the transition smoother and more transparent. The latest guidance from the bank’s press office clarifies that to unlock special service conditions, clients simply need to enable monthly automatic renewal of their VTB card with a minimum expenditure of 9 thousand rubles. This simple threshold marks the entry point into a package of enhanced features and reduced friction in day-to-day banking, designed to reward regular card use while keeping management straightforward for payroll recipients.

Alongside these changes, the bank has updated its transaction terms for salary clients. Now, cash withdrawals from ATMs across any bank in Russia can be performed with no limit on withdrawal amount or associated commissions, and notifications and cash withdrawals themselves are offered at no extra charge. This streamlined access is automatically activated when the customer spends 10 thousand rubles or more on VTB cards in the preceding month, creating a predictable, value-driven experience for those who rely on the card as a primary payroll tool.

In addition to withdrawal advantages, the salary project provides tangible savings on common loan products. Salary clients can take advantage of fixed discounts on cash loans, mortgages, and vehicle loans when purchasing these products through the program. The bank also indicated an uplift in the rate on savings accounts, reinforcing the portfolio of benefits for customers who maintain active card usage and engage with the bank’s broader financial ecosystem.

For family financial management, the program enables linking additional personalized cards and payment tags to a single account for both the cardholder and eligible relatives. This capability supports family budgeting by enabling commission-free transfers to loved ones, simplifying everyday financial planning and eldercare or child-expense management. The feature set is designed to minimize the hassle of multi-person households while preserving control for the primary account holder.

A broader perspective on the user base highlights the scale of VTB’s payroll adoption: more than 100 thousand enterprises and organizations in Russia rely on VTB debit cards to issue salaries, reaching over eight million individual employees. The program is positioned to grow further as the bank pursues continued expansion of payroll relationships, aiming to reach approximately 11 million payroll users within the next three years. This trajectory reflects a strategic emphasis on employer partnerships, card-based payroll solutions, and the ongoing evolution of the bank’s salary offerings to meet changing customer needs. The policy also reiterates that customers retain the freedom to choose their preferred employer or bank for salary deposits, ensuring flexibility amid a competitive financial services landscape.
