Turkey has been presented with a proposal from the United Nations regarding the possible route for Russian gas to pass through Ukrainian territory. This development was reported by DEA News, referencing a source familiar with grain deal negotiations.
There remains a lack of clarity and agreement on the proposal at this stage. Concurrently, Turkey and the United Nations persist in their efforts to overcome hurdles that stand in the way of Russian agricultural products reaching global markets.
“Yes, we are aware of the proposal and the various options that have been discussed between the parties. Yet there is no firm clarity or consensus on this matter, so there is nothing specific that can be shared at this time,” stated a source connected to the agency.
Former United Nations Secretary-General spokesperson Stephane Dujarric pointed out that the UN is maintaining contact to facilitate the export of Russian ammonia fertilizers.
He declined to disclose further details about the ongoing discussions.
