Participation in the program would require individuals to link one of their bank cards to the electronic public utilities service known as Action and to authorize access to card-level transactional data. The proposed setup is intended to provide the tax authority with visibility into spending and receipt activity, with the aim of improving tax compliance and streamlining administrative processes. Advocates suggest this approach could help detect non-reporting or anomalies without breaching the confidentiality of broader banking information.
