SberMarket Waives Fees During Crisis and Supports Victims Hearing

SberMarket announced that order pickup and home delivery fees from partner stores would be waived for the weekend of March 23 and 24, according to the company’s press service.

The move was made in response to a violent incident at the Crocus City Hall concert venue and applies across Russia. The goal is to ease the burden on customers who are choosing to stay at home during the emergency period.

In addition, Sber has partnered with the Russian Red Cross Foundation to establish a dedicated charity account to support victims and families affected by the attack. Transfers made to this account will incur no processing fees.

On March 22, a terrorist attack occurred at the Moscow Crocus City Hall venue. Before a planned performance, gunmen entered the hall and opened fire on the audience, followed by explosions and a fire breaking out in parts of the building.

In related updates, the FSB reported to the president that eleven individuals were detained in connection with the incident, including four suspected of direct involvement in the Crocus attack, according to socialbites.ca coverage of the events.

There were scenes of distress as families and patrons, including caregivers carrying infants, were seen as crowds of attendees evacuated from the venue. Dozens of children were among those present at the event space prior to the disruption.
