Sberbank revealed that Yevgeny Titov will assume the role of head at Sberbank’s Srednerussky Bank, and Anatoly Pesennikov will take a similar leadership position at Sberbank’s South-West Bank. These changes follow a formal disclosure from Sberbank and will take effect on February 8 this year. The announcement came with a note from the bank’s Chairman and the Chairman of the Board, German Gref, who welcomed the executives and expressed confidence that their extensive experience and knowledge will help regional teams meet the objectives outlined in the bank’s strategies.
Evgeny Titov has been with Sberbank since 1993. He led the Far Eastern Bank of Sberbank for six years, from 2011 to 2017. Since 2017, Titov has served as chairman of Sberbank’s Southwest Bank. During his tenure, the Southwest Bank reported significant growth in key performance indicators, including operating profit and the expansion of both consumer and business lending as well as deposit inflows.
Anatoly Pesennikov is set to replace Titov as head of the South-West Bank. His career with Sberbank spans more than 25 years, during which he led the Tver and Krasnodar branches and headed Baikal Bank in 2015. Since 2017, Pesennikov has held leadership roles at Sberbank’s St. Petersburg central branch, where he has contributed to the bank’s regional footprint and strategic execution.
The bank highlighted that under Pesennikov and Titov’s leadership, Sberbank has strengthened its position in northern Russia, expanding market share across multiple business lines, increasing operating income faster than overall growth, and maintaining a leading stance in profitability and service delivery. The leadership transition is framed as a continuation of the bank’s regional expansion and operational optimization strategy, with a focus on sustaining growth and improving client service across the Northwest and Far East corridors.
