At the international exhibition and forum Russia at VDNKh, two Sber offices opened side by side, one rooted in history and the other focused on the future. This development was announced by the bank’s press service.
Sber for the people. For business. For the country. The exhibition runs from November 4, 2023 to April 12, 2024, offering a unique look at how the bank blends heritage with modern innovation.
The historic office mirrors the design plans from 1954 because pavilion No. 2 was created in that era. The office uniform replicates the attire worn by savings bank employees in 1954, providing visitors with an authentic sense of the period. The space houses museum-standard exhibits such as cash registers, typewriters, savings books, and documents from the 19th and 20th centuries. A recreated workplace of a 19th-century Savings Bank employee stands as a focal point, and a monument to Sberbank’s first depositor, Nikolai Cristofari, adorns the office.
Visitors are invited to view the world’s first automobile equipped with an internal combustion engine, built in 1886, with Cristofari noted for his contribution. Guests can still access traditional banking services within the historical office and can also sign up for products from Sber partner companies as part of the exhibit experience.
The modern office places emphasis on technology, digitalization, and artificial intelligence. Attendees will discover Sber’s range of smart devices and smart home products showcased in the contemporary space as well.
A distinctive SberCard debit card, created specifically for the event, can be issued instantly at the fair offices. Additionally, attendees will have access to maps featuring designs by the Russian Geographical Society and the Tretyakov Gallery, enriching the visitor experience.
The Sberbank exhibition reveals how the bank supports people, aligns with their interests, and anticipates their needs for the benefit of the entire country. Sber presents the story of Russia through its own evolving history, highlighting how rapid technological development opens new possibilities for everyday life.
Overall, the display demonstrates Sber’s commitment to blending traditional banking foundations with forward-looking technology, offering a narrative that resonates with audiences in Russia and beyond. The dual-office setup illustrates how a legacy institution can evolve to meet current client expectations while preserving its heritage for future generations, emphasizing the bank’s role in shaping financial services through innovation and trust (Sber press service).
