SberTech, a division of Sber, recently moved X5 Group onto the Sber Process Mining platform to scrutinize and boost process efficiency. Reported by the bank’s press service, this step signals a deliberate alignment of internal workflows with cutting-edge analytics that uncover bottlenecks, compliance gaps, and rapid opportunity areas across operations.

X5 Group’s internal audit team now works with a platform built for intelligent process analysis. It ensures procedures meet established standards and enables thorough testing of controls. This shift supports ongoing monitoring and evidence-based remediation, helping to preserve operational integrity and drive consistent performance against key benchmarks.

To start the migration, Sber’s team connected X5 Group users to a cloud-based demo version of the Sber Process Mining platform. Within six weeks, internal auditors deployed essential control procedures on the new system, creating a baseline for continuous testing and optimization. The quick ramp highlights the platform’s accessibility and the organization’s commitment to rapid, value-driven adoption.

“The collaboration with X5 Group demonstrates how cross-company cooperation can reshape a global leader’s solution. Taras Skvortsov, Vice President and Director of Sberbank Finance, noted that deep expertise and constructive feedback from X5 colleagues have advanced the Sber Process Mining platform toward world-class best practices, underscoring the value of shared insight in complex transformations,” the company stated.

The platform transition enables internal auditors to routinely test controls against large data sets, speeding up the detection of deviations and violations that traditional methods might miss. By exposing subtle process dislocations and compliance gaps, the tool supports proactive remediation and tighter process governance across the organization.

“We are actively using Process Mining to test control procedures, and the company is confident in expanding the scope of this technology,” said Ivan Vorona, X5 Group Internal Audit Director. He added that moving from a globally recognized tool to a localized solution is not an easy step, but it is essential for uninterrupted operations within the division and for maintaining audit continuity.

Sber Process Mining extends beyond internal audit use cases. The tool can optimize any process that generates digital traces in information systems, unlocking insights across finance, supply chain, and operations. This broader applicability positions the platform as a catalyst for enterprise-wide performance improvement, not merely a specialty auditing instrument.
