Public Sector Salary Increases Detailed
An official notice indicates that several categories of public sector workers will see a salary increase of 5.5 percent starting October 1. This information is reported by RIA News, which cites a presidential decree and a government decision issued by the Russian Federation.
The adjustment covers the monthly remuneration received by diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, employees stationed in diplomatic missions and consular offices, and the regional offices that serve as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ representations across Russia. It also applies to federal civil servants whose salaries are determined by the positions they hold within the federal civil service, as outlined in Presidential Decree No. 726.
In addition, a separate government decree, No. 1345, announces a raise for employees of federal bodies who occupy posts not classified as federal civil service positions.
Legal experts have explained that civil servant salaries will rise in October, signaling a broad move to adjust pay for those in government roles.
Civil servants are defined as workers who hold government positions and are employed by state bodies. Their pay scales are tied to the duties and responsibilities associated with their roles within the public sector.
Earlier statements from the Ministry of Labor hinted at expanding compensation rights related to unpaid wages, suggesting ongoing discourse around wage protection and labor compliance for public employees.
Overall, the changes reflect a coordinated effort to adjust official compensation in alignment with statutory decrees and government decisions, with the objective of ensuring that public service roles remain competitive and fair within the national framework.
