A newly introduced function labeled Public Profile is currently in test mode within the Ozon application, as reported by the company’s press service. This feature is designed to gather customer reviews tied to goods purchased on the platform, with a few category exceptions noted by Ozon. It marks a shift toward more transparent feedback by attaching reader-facing commentary directly to the items that were bought, while still respecting product group limitations set by the service team.

Ozon users will have the option to follow other purchasers who have public profiles. When following these profiles, they will be able to view the comments those buyers have left about various products, provided those authors have chosen to reveal their identities rather than remaining anonymous. The mechanism aims to offer readers additional context from real buyers, helping inform future shopping decisions with firsthand impressions rather than generic summaries.

The new feature is designed to enable people to discover and track profiles that align with their interests. By following such profiles, users can gain ongoing insight into how others rate and review items across categories they care about. Viewers will only see the initial(s) of a person’s surname and given name, ensuring a level of partial anonymity while still enabling social discovery and accountability within the community of buyers.

The company emphasized that purchase histories will not be shared with other customers. Privacy controls remain in place, with users able to hide their public profile entirely, modify their public name, or conceal individual reviews if they prefer. In addition, options exist to selectively manage visibility, balancing the benefits of community feedback with personal privacy preferences. These safeguards are intended to provide a transparent review ecosystem without exposing sensitive purchasing information to the broader user base.
