Pobeda Airlines plans to acquire another Boeing 737-800 in 2024, according to RBC citing the airline’s press service. This move will raise Pobeda’s total fleet to 42 aircraft. The newly obtained Boeing 737-800 is slated to be operated by Royal Flight, a charter airline that halted its commercial flights in 2022.

Earlier, Pobeda operated 13 Boeing aircraft. However, sanctions led to 11 of those aircraft being detained at airports in Turkey and Egypt in March 2022. Since then, two Boeing aircraft have remained in Sheremetyevo, Russia, as part of the company’s ongoing adjustments to its fleet.

In November, Swiss civil aviation services company SITA announced it would block Russian carriers from accessing the international aviation top-level domain zone .aero that it manages. On November 10, SITA disclosed that it would stop providing Russian customers with services to register and renew domain names within this region.

Separately, reports indicated Ukraine’s intention to seize two Russian An-148 aircraft.
