The Russian arm of the French retailer Leroy Merlin has publicly announced a change in the legal name of its local entity, shifting from Leroy Merlin Vostok to Le Monlid, according to sources quoted by RIA News. The move is attributed to the transfer of business management to regional authorities.
Agency insiders clarified that no decision has been taken regarding a broader brand renaming at this stage. The current information indicates that the name change pertains only to the legal entity, not to branding strategy.
Officials emphasized that renaming the legal entity will not disrupt day-to-day operations, long-term strategic initiatives, or the employment and roles of staff across the region. The company stressed continuity across its commercial activities and customer-facing services amid the administrative transition.
Leroy Merlin is known for its range of products in construction, home improvement, decoration, and garden care for houses and country properties. The first store in Russia opened in the Moscow region in 2004, and the retailer has since expanded to a network of dozens of locations nationwide. Recent figures indicate more than 100 stores across multiple provinces and a workforce numbering in the tens of thousands.
