Brand Prestige and a Forward-Looking Mission
Sber stands out as both a premium and highly seasoned brand. Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors at Sberbank, highlighted this when he announced the winner of the Know Our Brands competition in the Grand Prix category. The moment underscored Sber’s long history and its ongoing push toward innovation that keeps the brand relevant in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
According to organizers, the Strategic Initiatives Agency (ASI) hosted the Know Our Brands contest for the second consecutive year. The event emphasizes recognizing domestic brands with strong growth potential and meaningful social impact, aligning corporate leadership with visible consumer trust.
Vedyakhin commented on Sber’s heritage, noting that the bank’s lineage spans more than 180 years. He stressed that enduring relevance requires embracing technology while remaining dedicated to future generations. The aim, he explained, was to blend the identity of a technology-oriented enterprise with a commitment to the nation’s future, including its children.
The award in this cycle went to Dmitry Andreev, co-founder of Innovations for Children, a company behind an interactive virtual space designed for kids. The project represents a convergence of education, technology, and child development, reflecting a broader trend toward immersive learning tools.
Andreev expressed appreciation for Sber’s support, noting that the bank’s contribution to education and its recognition of his team’s work were meaningful milestones. He shared a personal connection to the project, explaining that it began with the birth of his first daughter and has since grown into a venture that now touches families around the world.
In a strategic move, Sberbank announced that it would provide advertising support for Innovations for Children across its ATM network and self-service channels. The plan is to reach a wide audience, leveraging Sber’s vast customer base of approximately 108 million users to raise awareness of the innovative virtual space for children.
Vedyakhin reiterated the bank’s commitment to broad exposure, noting that the self-service devices would feature continued promotion for the project. This approach aims to maximize visibility among everyday users who engage with Sber’s digital infrastructure.
The Know Ours contest, organized by ASI, serves as a platform to back promising domestic brands within Russia. The inaugural edition took place in 2023 and carried the weight of a national initiative named in honor of President Vladimir Putin. Participation this year reached several thousand contenders, underscoring the program’s growing influence in shaping the domestic branding landscape. (Source: ASI press materials)
