In 2024, furnishing a kitchen in Russia is expected to cost at least 200 thousand rubles, according to Marina Teske, who oversees market supply management for interior company Mr.Doors. The figure was shared with socialbites.ca. The stated price covers essential components and services that buyers commonly expect from a complete kitchen setup. It includes a countertop, both upper and lower cabinets, a floor, and a dish-drying rack. Importantly, the price also accounts for a free design project, delivery, installation, and the manufacturer’s warranty. Any additional features or upgrades can significantly push the total higher. The interior expert highlighted that the minimum cost for the so-called dining group, which comprises a non-extendable table and four chairs, typically ranges from 60 to 80 thousand rubles.
Beyond the basics, a configuration featuring a hood, a hob, an oven, and a freestanding refrigerator tends to fall in the 180–200 thousand ruble band. Teske noted that dishwashers are becoming a more common part of kitchen appliance orders, with an average price around 50 thousand rubles. This trend reflects a broader shift toward more integrated kitchen solutions where appliances are purchased as part of a cohesive package rather than as standalone items.
Market insights come from a survey conducted by the Repair with SberUslugi service in collaboration with the Odnoklassniki social network. The results show that 52% of Russians anticipate undertaking home renovations within the next three years. There is a clear uptick in interest for renovations started from scratch, particularly in new-build properties. This year, 65% of respondents planned to renovate new apartments, compared with 45% the previous year. In second place is the option to reorganize housing after moving from a previous owner, at 21%, and in third place is updating existing repairs, at 14%. These figures illustrate a growing willingness to invest in substantial upgrades rather than minor, incremental improvements.
Earlier discussions have underscored rising expectations for bedroom furniture costs in 2024, underscoring a broader trend of increasing expenses across interior furnishings. Stakeholders note that as demand for modern, energy-efficient, and space-conscious designs grows, consumers are weighing long-term value and durability alongside upfront price. With this dynamic in mind, many buyers seek turnkey solutions that combine design, delivery, and installation under a single warranty umbrella, helping to simplify budgeting and ensure consistent quality across all components.
