About two dozen Iranian clothing brands are lining up to enter the Russian market, according to a report from News. The piece notes that the suppliers have already begun talks with Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as with management teams at major shopping centers. One manufacturer reportedly secured a contract valued at around 15 million dollars, signaling serious intent to establish a footprint in the region.
The brands from Iran preparing to expand include Abbas and Rasoul, Hassan, Romina, Kiana, Samira, Jila, and Alireza. These names appear in the discussion alongside comments from industry observers about the potential for growth in cross-national trade between Iran and Russia, especially in the apparel sector.
In response to the news, Viktor Yevtukhov, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, stated that Iranian players are eager to form partnerships with owners of commercial real estate and with prospective investors in Russia. The emphasis is on building a network that supports distribution, retail presence, and long-term market access for Iranian fashion labels.
Industry insiders quoted by Izvestia concur that Iranian brands are likely to find demand in Russia, but they will face competition from domestic producers who already understand the local retail landscape. The consensus is that Iranian entrants will need to demonstrate clear value, price competitiveness, and reliable supply chains to win shelf space and consumer trust.
It is also noted that a prior wave of brands announcing withdrawal from the Russian market did not all exit completely; about 25 percent have since remained or resumed operations in some form, underscoring the volatility and evolving nature of the retail environment. Analysts suggest this could create opportunities for new entrants with well-planned routes to market and strong partnerships with local retailers .
