Alexander Grushko, deputy minister of foreign affairs for the Russian Federation, stated that Moscow will conduct a careful review of the newly proposed 14th package of anti-Russian sanctions. This comment was reported by RIA News and underscores Russia’s intent to assess the implications before responding.
The diplomat indicated that retaliatory steps will be taken. He emphasized that the measures outlined will go through a thorough analysis to determine the most appropriate course of action in light of the evolving sanctions landscape.
Grushko also asserted that the European Union is pursuing a path of political, economic, and military escalation. He warned that Western policymakers often overlook the potential repercussions of such escalation on their own economies, as well as on the safety and well-being of their citizens.
Earlier, Grigory Karasin, who chairs the international relations committee of the Federation Council, suggested that Western attempts to curb Russia’s development through sanctions are destined to fail. He argued that Moscow has long observed rivals seeking to suppress, discredit, and hinder Russia’s progress across various sectors. The senator noted that in response to such strategies, the Russian people remain focused and committed to their national expectations.
In related developments, the United States expanded its list of anti-Russian sanctions, signaling a broader effort to apply pressure. Analysts note that Russia approaches these measures with a readiness to respond and adapt to shifting foreign policy dynamics, aiming to safeguard its interests and strategic autonomy.
