In 2023 Russia added six more dollar billionaires, keeping the nation among the top ten worldwide by this measure. This assessment comes from the Hurun China Research Institute.

Recent figures show that the Russian Federation is home to 76 dollar billionaires, placing the country seventh on the Global Rich List. The leading positions in the global ranking are held by China, the United States, and India.

Globally, the number of dollar billionaires grew by 167 during the previous year, reaching 3,279. About half of these ultra-high-net-worth individuals are based in Asia, and the total combined wealth of the world’s richest people is estimated at around 15 trillion dollars.

The cohort of individuals with fortunes of ten billion dollars or more, often called the “nine-zero club,” has doubled over the last ten years, rising from 126 members to 234.

According to the latest estimates, the richest person in the world is the chairman of LVMH, with a net worth near 229 billion dollars. Close behind is Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon, with roughly 201 billion, followed by Elon Musk, who leads Tesla and X.
