Georgian Airways has urged the cessation of a provocative campaign surrounding its operations now that direct flights to Moscow are commencing. This stance was detailed in a formal description shared by the carrier, reported by DEA News.

In its briefing, the airline noted a surge of insulting remarks directed at the company in recent days.

“The airline has been subjected to names and nicknames that are wholly unacceptable,” the statement asserted.

Georgian Airways also pointed to evidence suggesting that certain factions, seemingly prepared to undermine the interests of their own nations and peoples to defend foreign funding, have orchestrated the provocations against the carrier. The remarks underscored that decisions about visa regimes, whether to maintain or suspend visa-free travel, and the broader question of air links rest with the state, not with the airline itself.

Earlier, tickets to Moscow became available for sale from May 20. Customers can purchase seats through the airline’s website as part of the newly opened service.

Previously, Peter Stano, who serves as a spokesperson for the EU’s foreign affairs apparatus, remarked on Georgia’s decision to resume air connections with the Russian Federation in a visit to Brussels. This development has been noted as a point of regional interest and concern among EU member states and partners in North America as well. (attribution: DEA News)
