At the IX Eastern Economic Forum, Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Communal Services Nikita Stasishin highlighted a growing trend: more federal developers are showing interest in projects in the Far East. The remark came during a session on integrated regional development and fresh horizons in housing construction, underscoring a shift in federal participation in eastern отрасли.
Stasishin noted that two years ago, the Far East attracted far fewer federal developers. The landscape now looks different. He pointed out that the geography of development is expanding, and there is an expectation of heightened competition for lands and territories prepared by the DOM.RF Institute team, which coordinates strategic initiatives in housing and urban development.
He emphasized the need to accelerate Russia’s project lifecycle, aiming to shorten the time from the initial idea and land acquisition or credit resource provision to the onset of construction. The goal is a shorter bridge from concept to concrete work, reducing delays that often slow phase transitions in large-scale builds.
According to the deputy minister, project costs during the design, inspection, and other early stages have included high rates and interest. This reality affects timelines and the overall feasibility of proposals, prompting a call for streamlined procedures and better coordination among stakeholders to minimize financing frictions.
Stasishin urged regional and municipal authorities to engage more actively with developers. He argued that stronger collaboration is essential for aligning public planning with private investment, enabling faster approvals, smoother land transactions, and more effective use of public land reserves for regional growth.
As a reminder, the IX Eastern Economic Forum will take place in Vladivostok from September 3 to 6. The event continues to serve as a platform for showcasing regional opportunities, advancing infrastructure projects, and fostering dialogue between government bodies, developers, and financial partners across the country and beyond.
