Three applicant IT firms have received approval for accreditation to access benefits offered by the Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media. In total, 2,210 firms sought accreditation from a field that included 6,682 applicants. This information comes from the ministry’s press service on its Telegram channel.

The range of benefits available to IT companies includes reduced insurance premiums, zero personal income tax in the years 2022 through 2024, and preferential mortgage options of up to 5% per year for employees, among others. At the moment, 10,086 companies remain in the queue to confirm their accreditation in Russia, while the ministry reports that 4,472 applications are still under evaluation.

“All three IT firms that pursued accreditation have received approval. More than 2,000 IT companies have already been tested and accredited. In total, 6.6 thousand firms applied via the State Services portal, representing more than 60 percent of those required to complete the process,” a ministry official noted.

On June 3,Komersant reported that industry insiders indicated the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, IT and Communications held discussions with several Russian universities and the Ministry of Digital Development about broadening the roster of IT beneficiaries to include higher education institutions that train IT specialists. If this proposal gains approval at the highest levels, such universities could attain equal rights with accredited software developers.
