Russian agro-industrial companies are set to export substantial volumes of pork to India, according to Pavel Yudin, head of the export sales department at the Russian agro-industrial holding AGROECO. He was quoted by TASS.
AGROECO representatives conducted discussions with four major Indian pork importers, reaching agreements on cooperation. The company stated that its shipments will be aligned with consumer preferences and will comply with Indian import regulations. The approach emphasizes quality, traceability, and consistent supply to meet market expectations.
Deliveries are anticipated to begin in the coming months, with AGROECO aiming to move at least 300 tonnes of pork monthly into India. The product mix will focus on bone-in breast meat, ribs, and related cuts that are in demand in the Indian market, reflecting a strategy built around channel-specific preferences and regulatory requirements.
In a related development, Russia recently dispatched a first batch of 27 tons of pork to China. The collaboration highlights Russia’s broader commitment to expanding meat exports to key regional markets, including China, where suppliers have been working to establish a stable presence for more than seven years. This sustained effort underscores the importance of building long-term relationships with buyers and navigating regulatory landscapes to secure ongoing access to large-volume markets.
Earlier industry updates noted shifts in inflationary pressures on staple food baskets in Russia. Reports examined how the cost of ingredients used to prepare common meals, such as pancakes, has evolved over the past year, reflecting broader changes in supply chains, agricultural prices, and domestic demand. These trends are often discussed alongside export activity, as producers monitor how domestic cost dynamics might influence international pricing, competitiveness, and the ability to fulfill growing demand abroad.
