The Accounts Chamber of Russia identified violations totaling 160.3 billion rubles in the Health and Sports sectors for 2023. The finding comes from the ministry’s annual results report, as reported by Vedomosti. The 431‑page document was forwarded to the State Duma ahead of the Auditor General’s presentation to lawmakers. The publication notes that a portion of the violations occurred in healthcare, while another portion was found in sports administration and funding. Earlier, the Investigative Council of the Russian Federation reported a larger number of irregularities in public finances for 2023. The total value of those issues exceeded 2 trillion rubles, with the core concerns centered on violations of budget legislation, accounting standards, and reporting procedures. During the prior inspection, inspectors opened 93 administrative cases related to violations amounting to 1.6 trillion rubles, and 8.85 billion rubles were recovered into budgets at various levels. A proposal from a joint venture recommended integrating state programs for housing and communal services with broader landscaping initiatives.
