The Russians increased the volume of money transfers abroad in the second quarter of 2022. Information this is due to the Financial Markets Risk Review published by the press service of the Central Bank of Russia.
It was noted that a significant part of the transfers to friendly countries were made by the citizens of our country. As emphasized in the regulator, this corresponds to the process of restructuring the economy in new conditions.
The Central Bank of Russia also noted that from April to June, the Russians transferred less funds to unfriendly jurisdictions. In the second quarter, the number of such transactions fell to 13.5% from 42.8% in the second quarter of 2021.
The Central Bank of Russia explained the decline in such operations by the growth in the volume of transfers to friendly countries, both in distant countries and in the CIS countries, as well as the growth in the volume of foreign purchases of Russians.
At the beginning of September 8, the Governor of the Central Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina statedthat the self-isolation of the financial system can lead to a reduction in the welfare of the country’s population.
