Anglo-Dutch energy company Shell and American Exxon Mobil have decided to sell NAM, a Dutch joint venture that produces natural gas in Europe. About informs Reuters.
According to the agency, NAM is one of the largest and oldest gas producers in the region. At the same time, the decision to sell is explained by Shell and Exxon Mobil’s desire to get rid of these assets that are no longer a priority. In the companies themselves, in the face of difficulties with the supply of fuel from Russia, they expect the rapid sale of shares in the enterprises.
The publication stated that the shares of the companies are estimated at 1-1.5 billion dollars and that they will equally share the received amount among themselves.
According to a document obtained by Reuters, NAM facilities produced approximately 2.4 million cubic meters of gas per day in 2021. At the same time, with the additional investments to be made in the capacities of the enterprises, the production level can be increased to 2.8 million. Despite a good level of production, the facilities are slowly coming to an end, so Shell and Exxon Mobil no longer want to invest in them.
September 5 at the Shell website reportedreported that the company has decided to invest in the development of the Rosmari-Marjoram gas field off the coast of Malaysia. The company added that the site is designed to produce 800 million cubic feet of gas per day. The expected start of gas production is scheduled for 2026.
