The European Union has no problems with gas reserves either in supply or in storage. This was stated by the official representative of the European Commission (EC), Anna-Kaisa Itkonen. Interfax.
Answering questions about Russia’s suspension of gas transit through Ukraine, the spokesman said, “I have already said this and I repeat: There is no problem in the supply of gas to member countries.”
Itkonen added that the current level of gas reserves in the EU is 70%. This is lower than last year’s storage capacity. According to the EC representative, the difference between the levels is mainly due to the increasing demand for raw materials.
In August 2024, Kiev rejected the extension of the gas transit agreement with Moscow, stating that this issue was “closed”. In December of the same year, Ukrainian officials confirmed this view. More details material “Newspapers.Ru”.
