At a working meeting with the head of Karelia, Artur Parfenchikov, PSB Chairman Pyotr Fradkov said that PSB is ready to continue cooperation with the Republic of Karelia and participate in the further development of the industrial potential of the region.
Pyotr Fradkov also met with the Minister of Education and Sports of the Republic of Karelia Roman Golubev, the President of the Karelia Regional Athletics Federation Sergei Vorobyov and the Rector of Petrozavodsk State University Anatoly Voronin.
Participants discussed possible measures to support the development of athletics and public organization in the region.
“PSB successfully supports popular mass sports events and also implements its own projects to develop sports infrastructure and popularize sports. We have accumulated extensive experience in the preparation and implementation of sports events, and I am sure that this will be put to good use in the republic with the support of the leadership,” Fradkov said.
According to Parfenchikov, Karelia is interested in becoming one of the centers of development of athletics in the North West.
“The Republic has all the necessary qualifications for this. “This applies not only to children’s and youth sports, but also to elite sports,” he said.
Participants of the meeting also visited some of the city’s facilities, including the athletics field of Petrozavodsk State University, the Yunost universal athletics stadium and the Spartak Central Republican Stadium.
