Almost half of Russians surveyed, 48%, allocate money to children’s sports clubs, including hockey, football, swimming and gymnastics. A new type of activity – quad biking, aerobics with dance elements is also gaining popularity among schoolchildren. This follows from a survey conducted by the financial market “Vyberu.ru”. socialbites.ca has its results.

38% of parents prefer to invest in their children’s creative development. Most often, funds go to music and art schools, dance and theater studios. Scientific and technological hobbies such as robotics, programming, working with neural networks and flying drones are preferred by 10% of families. The remaining 4% of participants prefer hands-on activities such as crafts and blogging.

Financial expenses for children’s hobbies differ: 51% of parents spend from 1 thousand to 5 thousand rubles per month, 28% – from 5 thousand to 10 thousand rubles, 12% – more than 10 thousand rubles, and 9% – Spends more than 20 thousand rubles. The main expenses are spent on lessons and courses (60% of respondents), 18% on the purchase of equipment and 13% on participation in competitions and exhibitions. Only 9% of survey respondents spend on accessories and equipment.

“Parents try to develop skills in their children that will be useful in the future and support their interests in various fields. This shows the willingness of families to invest significant funds in the development of their children, even in difficult economic conditions,” commented Anna Romanenko, director of the communication policy department of Vyberu.ru.
