The State Duma rejected a proposal to limit citizens’ spending, citing positive trends in some sectors of the Russian economy. In this regard, we spoke with “Lentoy.ru” – said Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Artem Kiryanov.
This advice, he said, is inappropriate given economic growth and wages in some sectors.
Earlier, Associate Professor of Synergy University Daria Kopylova said that in the current realities, Russian citizens should try to “tighten their belts” and reduce unnecessary spending. However, Kiryanov did not agree with this approach.
“People live differently, there are entire industries where wages are increasing, because today we are actively engaged in technological dominance,” the MP explained.
He noted that businesses in the military-industrial complex, IT, trade and logistics sectors have seen a significant increase in wages.
Kiryanov also urged Russians to be careful when using consumer loans, especially with high interest rates.
Before that, the Central Bank of Russia recorded Restrictions were imposed on money transfers abroad for citizens and foreigners from friendly countries, with a monthly limit of $1 million being imposed on foreign accounts and $10,000 through payment systems.
Previously the Central Bank raised key rate up to 19%.
