Consumer price growth in the euro area slowed to 2.2% in August, the lowest since July 2021. This is confirmed by preliminary data Eurostat.
The indicator is in line with analysts’ expectations. The consensus forecast had assumed that inflation in the region would slow to 2.2% annually in August from 2.6% annually in July.
