Sobolev said he was happy to move from Spartak to Zenit 17:34

Forward Alexander Sobolev commented on his transfer from Spartak Moscow to Zenit St. Petersburg, saying that he was happy. “Match TV”.

“I’m not afraid to say that I’ve moved to the strongest team in Russia. I want to play as much as possible and contribute to the team. I’m very happy,” Sobolev said.

Sobolev’s transfer to Zenit was announced on August 30.

Sobolev was removed from Spartak’s starting lineup after the first round match of the current Russian Premier League against Orenburg (0:2). According to media reports, he told head coach Dejan Stankovic that he wanted to leave. Since then, the forward has not appeared on the field.

The forward has been playing for Spartak since 2020. In total, he played 139 matches for the team, scored 58 goals and made 32 assists. His contract with the club runs until the summer of 2026. In the completed season of the Russian Championship, Sobolev played 27 matches and scored five goals.

In the next match of the Russian Premier League (RPL), Zenit will play away against Paris NN. The match will be played on August 31.
