The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, expressed concern about the increase in exports of European goods to countries neighboring Russia. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
The head of EU diplomacy interpreted this as a circumvention of sanctions and called for strengthening control within the EU.
“The sharp increase in exports of goods to neighboring countries of the Russian Federation is difficult to explain by an increase in demand; it is more like evading sanctions,” Borrell said.
According to him, it is necessary to strengthen control over European companies, that is, the fight against sanctions should be launched directly in Europe.
Before him Borrell suggested introducing Sanctions against two Israeli government ministers. The head of European diplomacy noted that “no agreement has been reached yet” but that the process has been started, taking into account all the conditions.
In mid-August, the EU can think Sanctions are being imposed on Israeli officials.
Reuters previously reported that the Russian economy shows Strong growth in many sectors despite Western sanctions due to the conflict in Ukraine.
