Gazprom informed three buyers in Europe about force majeure in gas supply, writes Bloomberg.
The letter states that Gazprom was unable to fulfill its long-term gas supply contracts “due to unforeseen circumstances”. We are talking about gas supplies in June, which turned out to be less than the volumes ordered by importers.
It was previously reported that the German energy concern Uniper. received A letter from “Gazprom” about force majeure for gas supply.
The agency stated that the company found this statement unreasonable.
Prior to this, Uniper had started drawing gas from its storage facilities and notified consumers of a possible price increase. According to available information, the company took such measures against the backdrop of a reduction in gas supply from Russia.
Also on July 18, Uniper made full use of its existing €2 billion KfW line of credit and applied for an extension. Negotiations on stabilization measures are currently ongoing between the German government and Uniper. Their expiration date is not specified.
