American entrepreneur Elon Musk confirmed plans to close the office of his company X (formerly Twitter) in San Francisco, California. He wrote about this on his X page.

“There is no choice. It’s impossible to work in San Francisco if you pay for everything. That’s why [компании] “Stripe, Block (CashApp) and others had to move,” he said.

Musk is unhappy with the high tax level imposed on companies established in the city.

The New York Times previously reported that the company’s San Francisco employees had been ordered to relocate to San Jose, another California city. The newspaper also learned that a new X office will soon open in Palo Alto, also in California.

The Washington Post noted that some employees were laid off after Twitter was renamed X, and many employees started working remotely in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. WP added that the company’s San Francisco office had thus become less necessary for Musk.
